Lessons, Course Structure
This course focuses on EVPN deployment and the underlying VXLAN protocol on Nexus 9K using Cisco® NX-OS. It explains the foundation technologies for EVPN/VXLAN in detail.
Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC) formerly known Data Centre Network Manager (DCNM) is integrated as an application of Nexus Dashboard (ND). Students will manually configure a basic overlay network in the lab. Further policy management is done in NDFC. Each student has his/her own fabric and management system.
Objectives:
After completing this workshop the student should be able to:
- Deploy an VXLAN/EVPN-based LAN Fabric using NDFC
- Configure additional fabric functionality supported by NDFC (e.g. external networks, service integration)
- Perform Day-2 operations of network elements using NDFC
Target Audience:
Engineers
Architects
Suggested Pre-requisites:
It is recommended, but not required, to have the following skills and knowledge before attending this course:
- Good understanding of networking protocols, routing, and switching
- Understanding of Cisco data center architecture
- Familiarity with NX-OS
