Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure Deployment Workshop (ACI-DEPWS)

The objective of this workshop is to build student confidence and familiarity in deployment of ACI. This is achieved in a scenario based format that details to the mock customer environment and the requirements and constraints for an ACI deployment.
At the end of this session students should have an expert level of knowledge and be capable of successfully deploying an ACI solution
The student will analyse the business and application requirements, design a solution then configure the APIC before testing functionality.

Objective

At the completion of the class students should be able to:
• Analyse the Business and Application needs of a customer environment
•  Design a solution based on existing and new
• ACI equipment
• Application/Endpoint communication policy requirements
• Hypervisor integration
• External connectivity at L2 and L3
• L4-L7 integration requirements
• Gain experience in troubleshooting likely issues

    Target Audience

   Workshop Scenarios Overview

The following is a brief overview of the activities performed in work workshop scenarios:
Scenario 1 – Initial build no VMware integrated
• This will be based on a manufacturing company who already has a functional DC
• The customer will be using a mix of Vmware ESXi hypervisors and bare metal hosts to provide a platform for applications.
• The customer initial objective is to integrate ACI into their current network environment with no hypervisor integration
• The initial targets for ACI Implementation:
o Configure access policies to allow customer device access
o Configure Tenant policy and connectivity to support a three Tier e-commerce web app
o Configure External L2 and L3 connectivity to existing outside devices
Scenario 2 – VMWare integration
• Scenario 1 will be extended to include VMWare Virtual Machines integration and provide a platform for on-demand applications
• There is a desire to create an environment that will allow application developers to configure policy between different VM types.
• This will required the creation of additional Tenants and a more robust security environment
Scenario 3 – Service insertion
• Scenario 2 will be extended to include ASA firewalls
